Artist Statement

I hate hearing "originality is dead"and "everything has been done before" because, as a consumer of art, I get frustrated at the lack of queer stories for children and young adults.

My art always comes back to this idea of a fairy tale. Growing up on Disney and Saturday-morning cartoons influencing my aesthetic, I draw stories, which are both love letters to the LGBT community and a new perspective to all people. I know as a child I constantly tried to find these stories, and as they didn't exist then, and still haven't become mainstream now, originality can't be as dead as everyone thinks.
